Eid Festival

A Platform for Unity and Celebration

In the Islamic (hijri) Calendar, there are two days out of the year dedicated to a celebration called Eid. Eid al-Fitr occurs at the end of the month of Ramadan each year, and Eid al-Adha occurs on the 10th day of the month of Dhul Hijjah, the 12th and last month of the Islamic year.

Each Eid celebration lasts for three days, and each corresponds to a different celebratory occasion in the Islamic faith, with their own significance.

Since its inception in 2015, Eid in Bedford has grown into one of the most anticipated and vibrant community events in the South East of England. What began as a modest gathering has evolved into a multicultural celebration attracting over 25,000 visitors annually, making it the largest Eid festival in the region.

Rooted in values of diversity, inclusion, and community spirit, the event brings together individuals and families from all walks of life. It provides a platform for joyful celebration while creating meaningful engagement between local residents, businesses, and civic organisations.
