Eid Festival

In 2015 we had a vision of providing a safe and friendly place for families to celebrate Eid in Bedford, this resulted in Bedford’s very first Eid Festival. We wanted to create an affordable and inclusive event open for all to attend with no entrance fee’s unlike many other organised events across the country.
Eid in Bedford has now become a staple event in many Bedfordians’ calendars from initially being held on just one day to now a weekend event. Each year we partner with a world renowned charity organisation and raise money for their most immediate cause. We also felt it necessary to promote local and international causes/charities by inviting various bodies to our event allowing them to spread awareness throughout. We have also created an environment for businesses to trade ranging from a variety of foods all through to fashion and lifestyle. Considering how many parents will inevitably be spending money on their families we keep our costs low so that we can provide free supervised activities for children such as sumo-suit wrestling, sporting activities, climbing wall and more.
This even led to very popular ‘Tug of War’ competition held between local teams, proving to be gaining in popularity as the years go on. A fun fair is also organised and very popular too as many families don’t often experience these rides when fun fairs are passing through Bedford given the types of crowds they attract.
In 2022 we became the first Eid celebrations in the UK to cater for the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) community by opening the grounds earlier specifically for those with special needs by ensuring footfall and noise throughout that period was kept to an absolute minimum so they can enjoy without disruption.
Eid in Bedford is now a nationally recognised award winning event and the South East’s biggest Eid celebration.
